Maurício Ianês BR– The Writing / Shadowplay

The research of Brazilian artist Ianês focuses on issues of language (verbal, written, mimic etc.), its limits and possibilities. Central to his work are the deconstruction of the relation between the public, artwork, and artist and the communication between them. Building situations around these relationships, Ianês’ actions usually create a direct confrontation between the artist and the public. He works with installations, actions, video, photography, objects and sound pieces.
